The merged PR in question: userdb: add birthDate field to JSON user records

PR description:
Stores the user’s birth date for age verification, as required by recent laws
in California (AB-1043), Colorado (SB26-051), Brazil (Lei 15.211/2025), etc.

Related PR or as in, you know what is coming:

[ubuntu-desktop-provision] identity: add birthDate field to user provisioning [DRAFT] (closed)
[ubuntu-desktop-provision] postinst: write BirthDate to target AccountsService keyfile (closed)
[archinstall] user: add required birth date field to user creation (on hold, conversation locked)
[AccountsService] user: Add BirthDate with polkit-gated GetBirthDate and SetBirthDate methods (open)
[freedesktop xdg-specs] Draft: Add Age Verification Signal Specification (superseded by next PR)
[flatpak xdg-desktop-portal] Draft: Add parental controls to the Accounts portal (conversation locked)

Genuinely these should not exist, AT ALL
An OS should NEVER have this stored, what are the applications gonna do with this information? to celebrate my birthday?
What I also don’t get is that there are people on reddit (hopefully they’re real people and not LLM) don’t think this is remotely concerning.
FOSS used to ignore law legislation like this, what is even happening to free software space cursed_emoji
